If you are reading this you have stumbled onto the best guide to setting up and optimizing a Google Business Profile for Junk Removal businesses. We have taken our experience in setting up GBPs and studying the largest junk removal companies to see what is effective in helping your GBP rank. If you follow this guide you will be well on your way to adding monthly revenue to your business.
In this portion of the guide we are going to assume that you can follow Google’s prompts to fill out information and go through each step that is needed to complete your profile. This will not be a step by step on each prompt that Google will give you. Instead we are going to cover what is absolutely needed to have an optimized GBP for junk removal.
Do not leave any section of your GBP empty. You need to fill out all of the sections honestly (Don’t put out fraudulent information). GBP’s goal is to provide the best information for the searcher. Make sure they have what they are searching for.
There are 3 basic service categories that you can select that work well for Junk Removal businesses. They are:
You can use 1 of the service categories or a combination of all 3. We recommend that you look at what your top ranking competitor is using and choose those categories. You aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel. You are trying to beat your competitor. Every market has different categories that rank better than others. Make sure you pay attention to your market, not other markets.
When filling out your GBP you need to make sure that you list every service that you offer, every area that you offer that service in, and the hours that you are open. Do not get lazy with this part of setting up your GBP.
When you go to list the services you offer make sure that you click on all of the default services that you offer. You also want to make sure that you create “custom services” if you have more services than listed. You want GBP to know exactly what you offer your clients. It will help you show up in more searches.
When you list the areas that you service you want to make sure that you list every city and or suburb that you service. You want to fill out the max number of locations that you service.
When you list your hours make sure that you do not list you are open 24/7 unless you really are. GBP wants to give the best user experience to the searcher. It is not a good user experience if someone calls you and you aren’t open.
Some of the most common mistakes that are made with GBP involve leaving your profile incomplete. You need to make sure that your logo, banner, about section, phone number, hours, locations, features, and website are all filled out.
The worst thing that you can do on a GBP is put fake information on it. You do not want to lie about your services, service area, hours, or location. It is beneficial if you have a retail business location, but if you don’t and list your personal residence as your business location you can get your profile suspended.
You also want to make sure that you avoid keyword stuffing. You do not want the name of your profile to include anything other than your business name. Google does not like it when companies create fake profiles for lead generation.
On a monthly basis you want to get as many 5 star reviews as possible. When you go into your profile there should be a section that says “Share Review Form”. You can use that to send your review form to your customers.
You also want to add photos, posts, and respond to reviews. This shows Google that you care about your customers and are engaging. Google likes it when you use all of their features. If you use all of their features it adds to the “user experience” of the searcher which gives you bonus points.
The tips we are going to list here will help prop up your business. However, you want to be careful about how you implement these tips. You do not want to do them all at once. You also do not want to appear spammy in the eyes of Google.
Have people ask questions about your business on your GBP. There is a section on your Google listing that searchers can ask questions. You want to come up with common questions (with keywords in them) that your customers might ask. Have people list those questions so that you can answer them (with keywords in your response).
Have people leave strategically crafted reviews. This suggestion does not mean that you want people to leave fake reviews. However, if you can have your customers leave reviews specifically mentioning what service you offered, the location you offered it, or a benefit of your service, it can help your profile rank. You do not want everyone to be structured like this, but having a few can help.
Have local citations created so that you have a consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) across the internet. Google likes it when you have information referring to your business across the internet. Using tools like Yext, Moz, or Bright Local can help you create uniform information about your business across different listings.
